Warp

All ships with a powered cockpit are capable of warp speed.

Power Consumption

To engage warp the cockpit has to be powered. The power consumption is calculated per tick:

- Warp level*(50+(ship weight/1000) -

Warp was added with patch 1.26 (warp 1) and updated with patch 1.27 (max. warp 9 )

Currently a ship doesn't need any engines to warp. Only a properly powered cockpit is needed to be able to warp.
