Description

A device that uses a Cartridge to provide upgrades for systems aboard your ship. Provides 8 cartridge slots, but only ONE Data Core! This means that in order to use multiple cartridges simultaneously, you will have to place one additional Data Core Expansion Bay per Active slot you desire, up to seven (For a total of eight operating cartridges if desired). Terminal lights flash and sound fx play when the single onboard data core is active.

Usage

To insert a Cartridge, approach the front, center of the unit and you will see a slot to install the cartridge. Once installed, you can enable/disable the effect of that cartridge, attach a data core or eject the cartridge from the unit. If you see the text "No Data Core is Attached", then you need to assign an additional core to operate that cartridge, or disconnect the existing core so it can be attached to the cartridge you intend to operate. The cartridges burn out from use after a few hours, and have random stats much like the Chipset item. Check the stats of the cartridge you intend to use carefully; some "looted" cartridges have no positive effect, or essentially two penalties to the related system!
