Description

This fixed gun can be placed on an exterior tile. It needs to have an Ammunition Loader grouped with it and loaded with Standard Ammo. This weapon can only be operated from the cockpit seat, though the person in control not need be the pilot flying. Small Mounted Guns can be fired in groups, and you can have multiple groups and corresponding loaders as well.

Building Tips

Like most exterior blocks, gun blocks can be placed in any angle, and do not need to conform to the hull. In addition, Small Mounted Guns can fire through your ship's own blocks without any effect on either the round, or your own ship. As a result, you may hide Small Mounted Guns under other blocks, and can even shoot through other Small Fixed Guns!

These methods can be used to hide an otherwise terrifying armament from physical view. Alternatively, you can fake the appearance of a heavy main gun by using rounded blocks to make a gun barrel, and hiding the Small Mounted Guns inside of it, and capping it with a solar panel. Using this method also has the side effect of providing a tighter field of fire for the guns.
